Notes:

Peter and the Wolf (1936) was written in order to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra. This version is written in order to allow a string quartet to take this music where orchestras cannot go. One of the violinsts becomes the narrator and the remaining trio plays the entire orchestrated drama. This amazing feat is stunning.

Carnival of the Animals (1886) has several movements, each depicting an animal or animals. Here the members of the Bergonzi String Quartet display their musical versatility in a most acrobatic way by playing a total of twelve instuments. Young and adult audiences find their performance entertaining and astounding.

Dvorak's Bagatelles (1878) was composed for two violins, cello, and harmonium, a small organ. It is often heard today with the piano substituting for the harmonium. Here, a more authentic sound is heard by using the accordion.

Libertango (1974) is one of the most famous tangos written. Here the traditional bandoneon is replaced by the accordion.
