Scott Flavin (Violin)

Scott Flavin is Concertmaster of Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet, and Florida Classical Orchestra. He is also Director of the Frost Chamber Orchestra and the UM Baroque Ensemble at the University of Miami (FL), where he is a professor.

Prior to joining the Bergonzi Quartet, he was a founding member of the Ellis String Quartet, which toured the United States and Germany and was quartet-in-residence at the Aspen Music Festival. He has been heard on National Public Radio radio and Armed Forces Radio and is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

 

Flavin's recordings include chamber music on the Centaur and Naxos labels. He can also be heard on commercial recordings for Sony, EMI, and Warner Brothers, including more than a dozen Grammy award-winning albums
